The Municipality of Kyrenia took the citizens aged 80 and over who applied to the Social Affairs Branch and who could not go to the hospital, from their homes, to the Kyrenia Akçiçek Hospital for vaccination.
In the statement made by the Municipality of Kyrenia, the first eight citizens over the age of 80 who applied to the Social Affairs Branch of the Municipality were taken from their homes by providing safe conditions with previously disinfected vehicles and taken to be vaccinated at the Kyrenia Akçiçek Hospital. Citizens accompanied by the Kyrenia Municipality Social Affairs Department staff and Police teams, were then taken back to their homes after being vaccinated.
Kyrenia Municipality Social Affairs Branch Chief Misli Kadıoğlu stated that 30 people, 7 of whom were bedridden, who requested service from the municipality to be taken to the hospital, were taken to the Kyrenia Akçiçek Hospital for vaccination.
Kyrenia Mayor Nidai Güngördü stated that the duties of the municipalities have diversified and the services provided by local governments to the city have gained more importance during the Covid-19 pandemic period, and that they are trying to provide convenience in the current conditions for the elderly and patients in need of care and protection. Güngördü pointed out the importance of minimising the victimisation that may arise in the vaccine organisation, emphasising that they are always ready for support, the importance of the health of the people and their priorities.
Covid-19 vaccination procedures were initiated at the Kyrenia Municipality Social Life Center
In the information given by the Kyrenia Municipality; A total of 1515 people were vaccinated in February.
It was stated that those with, over the age of 65 and those aged 55 and over (born in and before 1966), chronic kidney disease (regardless of stage), COPD (including emphysema and chronic bronchitis), heart failure, coronary artery disease, pulmonary hypertension or cardiomyopathies, hematological diseases such as heart diseases, sickle cell, thalassemia, coagulation disorders, Type 2 DM, Covid-19 vaccine can reach the Kyrenia Municipality Social Affairs Branch on 0392 815 15 08 and 0533 870 20 10.
